The Academy of Certified Birth Educators (ACBE) is an organization dedicated to training, certification and providing continuing educational opportunities for birth doulas, childbirth educators, and healthcare professionals. We strive to reach underserved birthing communities, with an emphasis on rural areas.
We offer quality programs and support for professionals who nurture families through their pregnancy, labor, birth, postpartum, and lactation.
Our goal is to train doulas to actively involve parents in the prenatal, labor, birth, and postpartum periods. Our doulas enhance the birth experience by fostering relationships between parents, birth workers, healthcare providers and their communities.
ACBE respects and values diverse life experiences and heritages and ensures that all voices are valued and heard. Our programs serve all individuals regardless of ethnicity, religion, national origin, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, disability, or socioeconomic background.
